On this week’s Drink Spirits Happy Hour (on KPAM Talk Radio), we walk you through making The Old Fashioned.
The Old Fashioned is the original cocktail and can be made easily with just a few ingredients:
The Old Fashioned
2 oz of Bourbon or Rye Whiskey
3 Dashes of Angostura Bitters
1 tsp Bar Sugar or 1 Sugar Cube
a splash of water
1 lemon peel
1 orange peelMuddle the sugar and Angostura bitters in a splash or water or soda water (no more than a teaspoon) until the sugar is dissolved, forming a syrup in the bottom of the glass. Add the whiskey and the ice and stir well. Garnish with a fresh twist of lemon (also can do an orange twist or both)
