We’ve gotten a lot of good feedback our on new Booze TV segment, where we showcase the TV ads from spirit companies. The timing couldn’t have been better: network TV programs have begun relaxing their voluntary ban on hard spirit ads, and ABC, CBS, and NBC have begun airing spots for Captain Morgan rum, Grey Goose vodka, Jack Daniel’s whiskey and other brands on late-night television programs such as “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” “Late Show With David Letterman,” and “Saturday Night Live.”
This week we take a look at Tequila Avión. We first discovered Tequila Avión like many, while watching the final season of HBO’s Entourage. Tequila Avión has exploded since then after its Double Gold and Best White Spirit wins at the 2012 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Tequila Avión has been employing a two prong approach at promoting its tequila. The first was a series of commercials that were part of a Tequila Avión Choose Pleasure campaign that aired in movie theaters and were extremely sexy and playful. The full commercial is entitled Loft.
Recently Tequila Avión debuted a new series of commercials which are less playful but much more serious about the quality of the tequila. It’s a really great representation of Tequila Avión and shows how this little, relatively unknown tequila that starred in an HBO series is transforming into a mega brand tequila. The new commercial is called Voted World’s Best Tequila.
